Incubation of local solidary economy networks: lesson sand learning from the experiences of the Eco-Luiza project and the ITES/UFBA method

his text discusses the theme of technological incubation in the area of solidary economy. We aim to situate the specificity of incubation of local networks of solidary economy in relation with the incubation of popular cooperatives in order to learn about the innovative nature of the former in relation to the latter as well as its reach, constraints and challenges in methodological terms. We make use of the experience of the Incubadora Tecnológica de Economia Solidária e Gestão do Desenvolvimento Territorial at the FederalUniversity of Bahia (ITES/UFBA) and analyze the EcoLuzia project in the neighborhood of Santa Luzia in Simões Filho, a municipality in the metropolitan area of Salvador. This case study illustrates the setting up of a local network using the methodology for this type of incubation. Two main axes of analysis guided the case study: the local conditions in Santa Luiza on the one hand and the behavior of the incubating agent on the other. We observed that the local factor like the method when combined constitute decisive elements in the definition of direction (advances and limits) in an incubation process of this nature.
