Reconciling the multiple roles played by women is a major inhibiting factor to the promotion of the female talent. Thus, this essay aims to contribute to a greater understanding of the development of talent in women, and, based on recent investigations, to discuss the factors that facilitate and inhibit an outstanding female performance. Information presented in this article may lead to the development of other studies on female talent and contribute to the development and implementation of programs and services that assist children and adolescents talented as well as public policies aimed at working women.
