An analysis about diversity policies promoted by banks

The aim of this paper is to broaden the understanding about the relation between the reinforcement of discrimination against homosexuals and the inclusion policies developed by organizations. The theoretical basis of this discussion are studies on sexuality and gender, some in a post-structuralist perspective, emphasizing that social dynamic does not allow to isolate in an instrumental way part of a phenomenon, because the exercise of social practices are intertwined with everyday power relations. To legitimize the empirical discussion took place a qualitative research in two federal banks and one private bank, which was used as instruments of data production semi-structured interviews with ten gay bank employees and documentary research. It was concluded that only two public banks exist in official policies seeking to guarantee rights to homosexuals, but they are ineffective in combating discrimination on grounds of reifying the idea of minority and, consequently, the existence of a homosexual identity.
