About identity and difference in the context of indigenous education

In this paper we analyze the indigenous education through the concepts of identity and difference, to outline an understanding of how multicultural policies of education has been conceived and practiced historically in Brazil. This is according to a survey conducted by a qualitative methodology being used a document research and semi-structured interview. The discursive interpretative analysis of the document National Education Plan (2000, 2010) and the semi-structured interview with the vice-coordinator of SECADI showed that, historically, the school said the social exclusion of indigenous peoples, and today aims to prepare them for cultural negotiation relationships, formation of new identity positions and valuing their differences. The research contributed to the study of Brazilian multicultural policies for Social Psychology development.
