Foi estabelecida a hierarquia de 56 valores transculturais e quatro valores característicos da cultura brasileira com uma amostra de 419 sujeitos, de ambos os sexos, constituída por professores de escola secundária e estudantes universitários. A hierarquia foi estabelecida tanto no plano dos valores individuais como no dos tipos motivacionais de valores. As diferenças entre os subgrupos da amostra foram verificadas em termos do nível dos tipos motivacionais e da estrutura bidimensional dos valores. A hierarquia apresentou cinco níveis bem distintos de valores. Do ponto de vista motivacional, os valores de autodeterminação ocuparam o primeiro lugar. As mulheres enfatizaram mais do que os homens os valores a serviço de interesses coletivos e de autotranscendência de seus interesses egoístas em benefício do bem-estar dos outros. Os estudantes universitários salientaram mais do que os professores os valores relativos à autopromoção e à abertura à mudança.

The hierarchy of 56 cross-cultural values and four characteristic values of the Brazilian culture were established with a sample of 419 subjects, of both sexes, constituted by high school teachers and college students. The hierarchy was established so much in the plan of the individual values as in the one of the motivational values types. The differences among the subgroups of the sample were verified in terms of the level of the motivational types and of the bi-dimensional structure of the values. The hierarchy presented five levels very different from values. From the motivational point of view, the self-determination values occupied the first place. The women emphasized the values more than the men to service of collective interests and of self-transcendence of their selfish interests in benefit of the well-being of the other ones. The college students pointed out the relative values more than the teachers to the self-promotion and the opening to the change.

Este trabalho teve por objetivo fazer um breve histórico do meu interesse pelo estudo dos valores e discutir algumas das minhas contribuições científicas na área dos valores pessoais, laborais e organizacionais. O estímulo para escrever este texto foi o recebimento do título de professor emérito da Universidade de Brasília. Inicialmente, descrevi a minha trajetória de ensino e de pesquisa na Université de Moncton, no Canadá e na Universidade de Brasília. Os elementos discutidos neste relato representam indicadores da minha contribuição ao estudo dos valores pessoais, laborais e organizacionais.

The purpose of this paper is to briefly report my interest for the study of values and discuss some of my scientific contributions in the domain of personal, labor and company values. The encouragement to write this text was the receiving of the emeritus professor title by the Universidade de Brasília. To begin with, I described my teaching and researching experience at Université de Moncton, in Canada and at Universidade de Brasília. The elements discussed in this report represent indicators of my contribution to the study of personal, labor and company values.

O artigo apresenta um breve relato da trajetória da autora no estudo da criatividade no contexto educacional. Questões de pesquisa investigadas nas três últimas décadas, modelo que tem orientado a sua prática em programas de criatividade para estudantes, professores e outros profissionais de áreas diversas, além de alguns instrumentos construídos para a investigação de distintas variáveis relativas à criatividade, são descritos. O artigo finaliza com algumas considerações oriundas de seus estudos a respeito de criatividade.

The article presents a brief report of the author's trajectory in the study of creativity in the educational context. Research questions investigated in the last three decades, the model that has guided the author's practice in creativity programs for students, teachers and other professionals from several areas, besides some instruments constructed to investigate distinct variables related to creativity are described. The article concludes with considerations derived from the author's studies on creativity.

O artigo analisa os problemas existentes em variedades de definições de Psicologia e expõe as vantagens, do ponto de vista da Análise do Comportamento, de definir-se Psicologia como o estudo de interações organismo-ambiente. As interações organismo-ambiente são tais que podem ser vistas como um continuum em que a passagem da Psicologia para a Biologia ou para as Ciências Sociais é muitas vezes uma questão de convencionar-se limites. A análise experimental do comportamento utiliza-se de contingências e de relações funcionais como instrumentos para o estudo de interações organismo-ambiente.

The problems with the variety of definitions of Psychology are analyzed, and the advantages from the point of view of Behavior Analysis, on defining Psychology as the study of organism-environment relations. Such interactions can be seen as a continuum where the passage from Psychology to Biology or to Social Sciences is often a matter of convenience. The experimental analysis of behavior uses contingencies and functional relationships as tools for the study of organism-environment relations.

O autor faz um estudo da resistência em grupo baseado na obra de Siegmund Heinrich Foulkes, fundador da Psicoterapia Grupo Analítica. Foulkes utilizava os conceitos da Psicologia da Gestalt e da Teoria do Campo para fazer compreender o processo de mudança nos seus grupos, embora essas referências passassem desapercebidas, talvez pela dificuldade epistemológica que ele encontrava em combinar Psicanálise e essas teorias. O autor retoma os rastros de Foulkes e desenvolve, a partir dos conceitos de figura e fundo e aqui e agora, uma visão diferente na perspectiva foulkesiana, acenada por ele, mas não desenvolvida. Foulkes tem também uma linguagem fenomenológica que o autor procura explorar.

The author makes a study of the resistance in group based on the work of Siegmund Heinrich Foulkes, founder of the Group-Analytic Psychotherapy. Foulkes used the concepts of the Psychology of Gestalt and of the Theory of the Field to understand the change process´ in their groups, although those references passed unnoticed, maybe for the epistemological difficulty that he found in combining psychoanalysis and those theories. The author retakes the traces of Foulkes and develops, beginning with concepts of here and now, and figure and group a different vision in the Foulkesian perspective, waived by him, but not developed. Foulkes also has a phenomenological language which the author attempts to explore.

Resistência é um processo humano que acontece quando a pessoa se encontra sob algum tipo de ameaça. Não é essencialmente um acontecimento psicoterapêutico. Ocorre na terapia não como uma oposição a si mesmo ou ao terapeuta, mas como uma forma de se ajustar a uma nova situação. A resistência, é por natureza, a atualização do instinto de auto-preservação. E o organismo inteligentemente segue a lei da preferência. Resistência é uma forma de contato que não pode ser destruída, mas administrada, porque ela surge como uma defesa da totalidade vivenciada pela pessoa. A Resistência é, às vezes, resistência e awareness mais que ao contato. Ela revela mais o caminho seguido do que oculta a caminhada feita. A resistência é um processo natural, porque o corpo que não resiste, morre, mas falamos em processos de auto-regulação organísmica. Valorizamos mais o que mantêm a resistência funcionando do que à própria resistência. O terapeuta também resiste, ou seja, ele se auto-regula na sua relação com o cliente. Não questionamos a resistência, mas o processo que a mantêm. Trabalhamos com nove mecanismos de defesa, também tradicionalmente, chamados de resistência.

Resistance is a human process that happens always that the person is under menace or is in position of defending his right to be self-regulated. Resistance is not, by nature, a given psychotherapeutic process. It occurs in psychotherapy, not as an opposition process against himself or to the therapist, but as a function of helping a new situation inside the person. Resistance is, by nature, the actualization of the instinct of self-preservation. That is, everything that is born deserves to live, everything that emerges from the organism emerges as a necessity of the organism, that always follows of the preference law, no matter the nature of the object under observation. Resistance is a contact form that cannot be destroyed, but managed, controlled, because it emerges as a defense of the totality in action. Resistance is, sometime, resistance to awareness, not to contact, even if resistance is a contact form. We don't use to work with the resistance, as resistance, indeed, because if the body does not resist, it dies. We work rather the process than with the resistance in itself. The therapist also resists, it is, and even he also experiences his own self-regulation. What is generally called resistance, we call organic self-regulation process, and we work with mine of these mechanisms.

Neste trabalho é abordada a lei diante da família e seus membros: como é percebida, transgredida e interiorizada. São analisados aspectos relacionados aos procedimentos das instituições jurídicas, indicando a necessidade de se introduzir o paradigma sistêmico, visando à obtenção de melhores resultados no trabalho dos profissionais da área.

In this report we discuss the law as related to the family and its members: how the law is perceived, internalized and broken. Aspects of the procedures of judicial institutions are analyzed, showing the need for the introduction of a systemic paradigm in order for professionals in the area to obtain the best results.

Neste ensaio são apresentados os principais desenvolvimentos ocorridos após a publicação do artigo "Leis, transgressões, famílias e instituições: elementos para uma reflexão sistêmica", de minha autoria, publicado em 1983, no que concerne às leis e as novas configurações familiares. São apresentados resultados da percepção de segmentos da população acerca do significado da lei à luz dos resultados da pesquisa realizada há 14 anos. Discorremos sobre as transformações das interações da Psicologia e da Psicanálise com o Direito, assim como as contribuições da Teoria Sistêmica. Ilustramos a mediação de conflitos, uma nova área multidisciplinar, como a mais recente contribuição prática integrando Psicologia, Direito e outras áreas do conhecimento.

This essay presents the principal developments concerning the laws and new family configurations since the 1983 publication of my article "Laws, transgressions, families, and institutions: elements for a systemic reflection." Results are presented of the perceptions of population segments regarding the significance of law in light of the results of research conducted 14 years ago. We discuss the transformation in the interactions of Psychology, Psychoanalysis and Law, as well as the contributions of Systemic Theory. We illustrate conflict medication, a new multidisciplinary area, as the most recent, practical contribution of integrating Psychology, Law and other areas of knowledge.

Desde o trabalho de Cronbach e Meehl dos meados do século passado, o conceito de validade dos testes em Psicologia e Educação vem perdendo o seu sentido original. Embora os autores quisessem precisamente salvar esse conceito, a introdução do modelo da rede nomológica, concebida dentro da visão do positivismo lógico veio, na verdade, destruir o conceito de validade, originalmente concebido por Kelly na década de 1920 e, depois, por Cattell. O conceito de validade, finalmente, foi totalmente descaracterizado com a definição do mesmo dada pelo grande psicometrista Samuel Messick, em 1989. Parece fundamental que esse conceito seja redescoberto para salvar as bases da Psicometria. A exposição procura mostrar as confusões que o modelo da rede nomológica introduziu em Psicometria e tentar recuperar o verdadeiro significado de validade no contexto das medidas em ciências psicossociais, em particular, em Psicologia e Educação.

Since the work of Cronbach and Meehl of mid last century, the concept of validity of the tests in Psychology and Education has been loosing its original meaning. Despite the intention of the authors to precisely save this concept, the introduction of the model of the nomological network, conceived within the framework of the logical positivism, was in fact decisive to destroy the concept of validity as originally conceived by Kelly in the 1920s and later on by Cattell. The concept of validity was finally completely mischaracterized with the definition given by the great psychometrist Samuel Messick in 1989. It seems to be fundamental that this concept is rediscovered in order to save the bases of Psychometry. The present article will try to show the confusion that the nomological network model brought to Psychometry and also to try to recuperate the real meaning of validity within the context of the measures in psychosocial sciences, especially in Psychology and Education.

O uso de drogas é um fenômeno social complexo em que intervêm questões de valores e de sentido. Logo, a prevenção ao uso indevido de drogas, longe de ser neutra, contém elementos ideológicos que podem mascarar suas finalidades. Por esta razão, a reflexão ética sobre seus objetivos, conteúdos e procedimentos é fundamental para que suas ações tenham credibilidade e eficácia. Analisa-se criticamente a prevençã de enfoque repressivo, baseada na pedagogia do terror, à qual se opõe o modelo da prevenção pela educação. Aí, cabe à escola um papel fundamental para despertar o potencial psico-afetivo e criativo do jovem e para levá-lo a efetuar opções conscientes e responsáveis pela sua saúde. Esta é discutida no contexto amplo da ecologia humana, em que as drogas são apontadas como um dos agressores que ameaçam o equilíbrio social e ambiental, a ser resgatado a partir de uma ética da responsabilidade.

Drug use is a very complex social phenomenon, because it reaches questions of human values and senses. Thus, the prevention of drug abuse is not neutral and involves ideological elements, able do mask its goals. Ethical reflection about its aims, contents and methods are fundamental in order that its actions obtain credibility and efficacy. The critical analysis of the repressive oriented prevention shows that it is based on pedagogy of terror, which is contrasted with the model of educational prevention. The school has a fundamental role in awakening the psycho-affective and creative potential of children and in leading them to conscious and responsible choices about their health. This one is discussed in the context of a human ecology, where drugs appear like one of the aggressors who menace the social and natural balance, to be saved by an ethics of responsibility.
