Considerations of the exergetic analysis on electric energy rates

It is important that the energy systems be designed in such a way that the quality of energy of a given end-use matches, as much as possible, the natural resources, avoiding situations where high quality energy be used by a given end-use of low quality. In the electric energy rates elaboration some parameters are considered, including social, political, strategic and engineering. Among the engineering criteria, the system efficiency may be considered as one of the most important. Rational utilization of the energy in lighting, heating and traction, for example, can be stimulated or not, by the efficiency criteria adopted. The efficiency in a system may be measured in two ways: energetic and exergetic efficiency. So far, the exergetic efficiency has not been considered as a criteria for the elaboration of electric energy rates. If exergetic considerations were adopted, beyond the energetic ones,k there will be important changes in the Brazilian energetic matrix. This article deals with the evaluation of the consequences of the exergetic tariffs applied to the actual electrical energy systems for society as well as for customers and distributors.
