ANALYSIS OF FLOW OF AVIAN RATION AND WHEAT BRAN IN PRISMATIC SILOS

ABSTRACT

With the objective to evaluate the behavior to the flow of the avian ration and wheat bran, a reduced model of prismatic silos was made with a zigzag conformation of transparent material. The present work also had an objective the determination of the mean outflow of bulk solids, as well as their physical properties: humidity proportion, granulometry, consolidated density, angle of internal friction, effective angle of internal friction, kinetic angle of friction on a wall surface, flow function and flow factor. To obtain results of flux analysis, photographic sequences of the original product inserted by layers of bulk solids stained in red were made. For the mean flow of discharge a completely randomized factorial design in 3 x 3 x 2 (fat proportion, relation height/side and transversal sections of the exit mouth), with three repetitions was adapted. The results obtained showed that the increase in fat proportion and the transversal section of the exit mouth influenced in kind of flow of the studied bulk solids.
