Religiosity in teaching practice

Abstract:

This article aims to present some results of a research about the presence of religiosity in public schools. In a study inspired by ethnography, it were accompanied two classes of elementary school in a municipality of São Paulo, and it was possible to observe that, differently from what we had imagined, religion is not present in schools in an explicit way, but in a hidden and diffuse way, as a strong influence in teaching practice, what damage state secularism principle. The text begins with a brief explanation about theoretical presumptions from Sociology of Education field, continues with an explanation on teaching practice of two teachers and concludes with an analysis on the forms of religiosity present in schools.
