With the increase in life expectancy, it becomes important to ensure the elderly greater longevity with quality of life. This study aimed to estimate the contribution of socio-demographic conditions in the worst perception of quality of life in groups of elderly people. A sample of 141 elderly was interviewed regarding socio-demographic conditions and self-assessment of the quality of life. The X² was used to test associations. For the physical domain, the variables were entered into a model of non-conditional multiple logistic regression; 73% of the elderly answered to be satisfied with their quality of life and 69.5% rated their health as good. At the environmental domain, family income and education showed to be statistically associated. Family income, education, the condition of not having companionship currently and the age of 80 years or more showed association in the physical domain. The majority of the population investigated rated their quality of life as good or very good, however advanced age proved to be statistically associated with the worst perception of quality of life in the physical domain.
