Petrobras and the Human Rights Violations Committed by the State-Owned Company during the Military DictatorshipThe article presents partial data on the human rights violations committed during the military dictatorship by Petrobras, a relevant investigation insofar as the report by the National Truth Commission (2014) did not consider corporate responsibility during this period. In the case of Petrobras, it left out agents of repression who worked for the company and issues such as the work of its Information Division during the 1970s, its support for operations by the security agencies, and the invasion of indigenous lands for research and exploitation of mineral resources. In addition, the Public Report (2023), organized by the research coordinated by CAAF/Unifesp on corporate responsibility, is lacking in this regard. This research reflects on corporate responsibility based on authors such as Victoria Basualdo, and on the judicialization of these cases, based on the Inter-American Human Rights System and other precedents in international law.
