ORIENTATION AND INCENTIVE PROGRAM FOR PREMATURE NEWBORN BABIES' BREASTFEEDINGThis research has attempted to investigate the validity of an orientation and incentive program for premature newborn babies' breastfeeding. It discussed dialogically with a wide theoretical basis and research done with two mother's groups-one with a continued postbirth program_and the other one without.
The instrument was valid in verifying that the program managed to raise the motivation levei of the entire team involved with the proposal, from the maternityward workers to the doctors, as much at the Santa Casa de Misericórdia as at the Ambulatório de Prematuridade do Posto de Saúde.
lt proved that although this program increases the predominance of exclusive breastfeeding there is a large number of factors, also discussed in. the research, that can lead to premature weaning.
