The authors have analized the scientific production presented by nurses and other professionals associated with the teaching of Nursing, published in the ANNALS of the Yearly Meetings of the Brazilian Society for Science Development (SBPC) from 1949 to 1983.
Data showed a prevalence of papers prepared by faculty members over those prepared by Nursing Service Staff, as well a tendency for a quantitative decrease in the scientific production in the last five years.
