Honneth's Theory of Recognition: a dialogue with refugee integrationThis article aims to address the issue of integration of refugees - one of the lasting solutions proposed by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees - by relating the concept to the Theory of Recognition developed by sociologist Axel Honneth. The methodology employed consists of a literature review, justified by the need to deepen the conceptual framework regarding the processes of inclusion and belonging of these people who deserve - not only by legal right to asylun, but also by the extensive suffering already experienced by them - the most humane treatment possible. At the same time, the relevance of Honneth's theory to this study lies in the fact that it offers the normative basis for understanding integration not only as a bureaucratic issue, but as a two-way process between forced migrants and the receiving society, serving as a guiding thread for a closer link between social recognition and effective inclusion.
