We are now releasing the last number of the sixth volume of the IBRACON Structures and Materials Journal (Volume 6 Number 6, December 2013). With this number we have six volumes completed without interruption. This number contains five articles addressing relevant topics on concrete materials and structures. The influence of service life, strength and cement type on life cycle environmental performance of concrete is evaluated in the first article. The second article discusses relations between indirect tensile and flexural strengths for dry and plastic concretes. The next article compares prediction models available in codes with test data for shear strength. The fourth article proposes a way to determine the reinforcement bars to be used in tests of hollow core slabs with continuity provided by a structural topping. The fifth and last article addresses the interpretation of strength loss in dry concretes with addition of milled asphalt through microscopic analysis.

In this number we acknowledge the reviewers who donate, during this year, part of their time to support the editors in the task of deciding which articles should be published or not. Their contribution has also an impact on the quality of the articles, with comments that help significantly the authors.
