Abstract
The purpose of this article is to examine the conjunctive relationships present in the Foucaultian analysis of the relations of disciplinary power and in Marx's analysis of the capitalist mode of production. To do so, it focuses on two works by Foucault and Marx, respectively: Discipline and Punish and Capital. It thus identifies how discipline constitutes a device strategic to the operation of the capitalist system
