This paper consists of a reflection on the book "Kafka and the Traveling Doll," by Jordi Sierra i Fabra (2006)Sierra i Fabra, J. (2006). Kafka e a Boneca Viajante. São Paulo: Martins Fontes.. The book is based on Winnicottian concepts such as transitional objects and transitional phenomena, potential space, the importance of playing, and the construction of the relationship between analyst and patient. This reflection shows that the analytic process gives rise to transformative emotional experiences that can modify lost objects into different cultural phenomena.
