Journal Matéria and ABM: a successful partnership
This issue of the Journal Matéria continues a well succeeded partnership with the Brazilian Association for Metallurgy and Materials, ABM, initiated in 2006, when articles presented to the 61th ABM Annual Congress in Rio de Janeiro were published as special contributions.
At a private meeting during the 62th ABM Annual International Congress in Vitória, for which I was the technical coordinator, the bases of this partnership were consolidated by the ABM Executive Director, Horacídio Leal Barbosa Filho, and the Journal Matéria Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Paulo Emílio Valadão de Miranda.
The increasing relevance of the electronic communication media and the fact our Journal Matéria, which is indexed by the SciELO and is classified as A level in the CAPES Qualis system, was the first totally virtual scientific journal in Brazil, makes this partnership with ABM, the largest national society for metallurgy and materials professionals, a dynamic way to disseminate scientific and technological information on this field.
The second set of articles published in the current issue was previously selected from the theme of Development, Suitability and Application of Ceramic, Composite and Polymeric Materials among those presented at the last ABM Congress in Vitória. These articles were approved by the board of reviewers of the Journal Matéria, guaranteeing to the authors a prompt diffusion of their work at an international level. Even more important, these joint publications with ABM are immediately incorporated into the worldwide electronic web file for metallurgy and materials.
