ABSTRACT
This work presents the survey of the genus Adiantum of the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden. Thirteen species of the genus Adiantum and one cultivar were found. Twelve species are widely distributed in the Neotropic, one species is endemic of Brazil (Adiantum pentadactylon), and two species are native from the Paleotropic (A. caudatum, A. formosum). Keys, descriptions, illustrations and comments of the studied species are presented.
