Abstract:
In the era of the financialization of capital, the indebtedness of the working class has become a global phenomenon, present in both the central economies and the periphery of capitalism. This article questions the supposed homogeneity of this phenomenon, highlighting the validity of the category of overexploitation of the workforce in order to understand the particular - and highly violent - way in which indebtedness is expressed in Brazil.
