The theoretical approach of Lena Vania Ribeiro Pinheiro to interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary concepts

Analysis of the approach taken by the Brazilian researcher Lena Vania Ribeiro Pinheiro concerning interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary concepts, in her intellectual production, based on a review of literary works produced by the author between the mid-1990s and 2009. The main theoretical influences (Hilton Japiassú, Julie Thompson Klein, Edgar Morin and Olga Pombo) that guided and underpinned her study of these concepts, will be analyzed along with the evolution of this approach over the course of her bibliographical production. In parallel to this analysis, based on the ideas of the author, a brief historical study will be conducted on the development of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary concepts, as well as the identification of disciplines that are theoretically and practically connected with Information Science. We conclude, from this analysis, that this researcher has a solid and consistent theoretical grounding on the topic.
