Beyond the slave plantations and factories: a social history of work

Convinced of the kinship between slavery studies and free labour, we suggest the need for a perspective that allows us to comprehend the complexity and diversity of the experience of work in History, shifting beyond rigid notions of social class and the established boundaries of research approaches.
