Estudo dos aspectos éticos dos transplantes na América Latina^*

RESUMO

Respeitando recomendações da OMS, foi feito estudo retrospectivo comparativo das Legislações de 16 Países da América Latina, a saber Argentina, Bolívia, Brasil, Colômbia, Costa Rica, Chile, Cuba, Equador, Guatemala, Honduras, México, Panamá, Paraguai, Peru, República Dominicana e Venezuela, do período de 1963 a 1992, enfatizando-se os aspectos éticos referentes a doação, determinação da morte, conflito de interesses, seleção do receptor, comercialização e intercâmbio internacional de órgãos.

ABSTRACT

The authors made a retrospective study by comparison of legal and ethic aspects of organ and tissue donation by human living persons and cadaver donors, death determination, receptor selection, conflict of interest, selling and buying organs, and international interchange of organs in 16 Countries from Latin America (Argentin, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Cuba, Equador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguai, Peru, Dominican Republic and Venezuela), according to the WHO recommendation.
