Abstract Over the last three decades, stroke care has undergone significant transformations mainly driven by the introduction of reperfusion therapy and the organization of systems of care. Patients receiving treatment through a well-structured stroke service have a much higher chance of favorable outcomes, thereby decreasing both disability and mortality. In this article, we reviewed the scientific evidence for stroke reperfusion therapy, including thrombolysis and thrombectomy, and its implementation in the public health system in Brazil.

Resumo Nas últimas três décadas, o tratamento do AVC sofreu transformações significativas, impulsionadas principalmente pela introdução das terapias de reperfusão e pela organização dos serviços de AVC. Os pacientes que recebem tratamento em um serviço de AVC bem estruturado têm uma probabilidade muito maior de resultados favoráveis, diminuindo assim a incapacidade funcional e a mortalidade. Neste artigo, revisamos as evidências científicas para as terapias de reperfusão do AVC, incluindo trombólise e trombectomia e sua implementação no sistema público de saúde no Brasil.

Resumen La disección aórtica representa una afección relativamente poco común pero potencialmente mortal que se debe a un desgarro en la capa íntima de la arteria aorta o sangrado dentro de su pared, lo que da como resultado una separación de las capas de esta. Se han identificado varios factores de riesgo y comparten los mismos que para otras enfermedades cardiovasculares, como la edad, la hipertensión arterial, la dislipidemia y los trastornos genéticos del tejido conectivo. Es muy importante que el clínico pueda realizar un diagnóstico oportuno y un tratamiento adecuado en los pacientes afectados. El tipo de tratamiento depende de la extensión y de la localización de la disección. La reparación quirúrgica abierta suele ser la más usada para aquellas en las que están involucradas la aorta ascendente y el arco aórtico; por otro lado, la intervención endovascular está recomendada para las disecciones de la aorta descendente, que suelen ser complicadas. En este trabajo se revisará la epidemiología, la fisiopatología, las manifestaciones clínicas y finalmente el manejo de la disección aórtica.

Abstract Aortic dissection represents a relatively rare but highly fatal condition that is due to a tear in the intimal layer of the aortic artery or bleeding within its wall, resulting in a separation of its layers. Several risk factors have been identified and share the same as for other cardiovascular diseases such as age, high blood pressure, dyslipidemia and genetic disorders of connective tissue. It is very important that the clinician can make a timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment in patients affected by it; the type of treatment depends on the extent and location of the dissection. Open surgical repair is usually the most used for those that involve the ascending aorta and the aortic arch, on the other hand, endovascular intervention is recommended for dissections of the descending aorta that are usually complicated. In this work, the epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations and finally the management of aortic dissection will be reviewed.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: The COVID-19 pandemic has been shown to be a probable aggravator of psychological responses such as anxiety and depression. This study aimed to assess the correlation between symptoms of anxiety and depression during the COVID-19 pandemic and the existence of symptoms associated with temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD) in a Brazilian university population. METHODS: This epidemiological, cross-sectional clinical study evaluated its variables of interest using the COVID-19 Fear Scale, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS-A and HADS-D), Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Dysfunction (DC/TMD) and Oral Behavior Checklist (OBC) questionnaires. RESULTS: A total of 373 participants (females = 273) with a mean age of 23.8±5.45 years were included in this study. In addition, 78.2% of participants with anxiety symptoms and 54.5% of participants with depression symptoms reported a high level of TMD-related parafunction (p<0.01). The presence of anxiety symptoms increased the odds of developing intense fear of COVID-19 by 14.9 times (p<0.001) and the odds of developing moderate fear of COVID-19 by 3.5 times (p<0.001). The presence of an intense fear of COVID-19 increased the chances of developing anxiety symptoms by 17.15 times (p<0.001), while the presence of a moderate fear increased these chances by 3.12 times (p<0.001). In addition, the presence of intense (p=0.01) or moderate (p=0.018) COVID-19 fears increased the odds of developing TMD-related pain symptoms by 2.47 and 1.84 times, respectively, in this population. CONCLUSION: The presence of painful TMD symptoms was possibly influenced by fear of COVID-19. This, in turn, was related to the presence of anxiety and depression symptoms reported by the target population of this study.

RESUMO JUSTIFICATIVA E OBJETIVOS: A pandemia de COVID-19 mostrou-se um provável agravante de respostas psicológicas como ansiedade e depressão. Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a correlação entre sintomas de ansiedade e depressão durante o período da pandemia de COVID-19 e a existência de sintomas associados à disfunção temporomandibular (DTM) em uma população universitária brasileira. MÉTODOS: Este estudo clínico epidemiológico e transversal avaliou as suas variáveis de interesse por meio dos questionários Escala de Medo do COVID-19, Escala Hospitalar de Ansiedade e Depressão (HADS-A e HADS-D), Critérios Diagnósticos para Disfunção Temporomandibular (DC/DTM) e Checklist de Comportamentos Orais (OBC). RESULTADOS: Ao todo, 373 participantes (sexo feminino = 273), com média de idade de 23,8±5,45 anos foram incluídos neste estudo. Ademais, 78,2% dos participantes com sintomas de ansiedade e 54,5% dos participantes com sintomas de depressão reportaram alto nível de parafunção relacionada à DTM (p<0,01). A presença de sintomas de ansiedade aumentou em 14,9 vezes as chances de desenvolvimento de um quadro de medo intenso do COVID-19 (p<0,001) e de um quadro de 3,5 vezes nas chances de desenvolvimento de medo moderado do COVID-19 (p<0,001). A presença de um medo intenso do COVID-19 aumentou em 17,15 vezes as chances de desenvolvimento de sintomas de ansiedade (p<0,001), enquanto a presença de um medo moderado aumentou essas chances em 3,12 vezes (p<0,001). Ademais, a presença de medos intensos (p=0,01) ou moderados (p=0,018) do COVID-19 aumentou 2,47 e 1,84 vezes, respectivamente, as chances de desenvolvimento de sintomatologias dolorosas relacionadas à DTM nessa população. CONCLUSÃO: A presença dos sintomas dolorosos da DTM foi possivelmente influenciada pelo medo do COVID-19. Isso, por sua vez, esteve relacionado à presença de sintomas de ansiedade e de depressão, reportados pela população-alvo deste estudo.

Resumen: Por años, los proyectos de construcción se han desarrollado y entregado usando métodos de entrega tradicionales. Sin embargo, esos métodos se han considerado ineficaces para lograr los objetivos reales del proyecto. Un modelo integrado y colaborativo, como la Entrega Integrada de Proyectos (IPD, por su sigla en inglés), un método de entrega basado en contratos relacionales ha atraído un interés creciente tanto en la academia como en la industria, pero aún escaso en Arquitectura, Ingeniería y Construcción (AIC). La mayoría de las investigaciones anteriores enfatizan en la identificación de las barreras y desafíos para implementar la IPD y pocos estudios se enfocan en desarrollar estrategias para superar esas limitaciones. Un número limitado de estudios aborda el cómo aprovechar los beneficios de la IPD en entornos AIC donde la colaboración entre las partes interesadas es deficiente. Esta investigación busca la forma de integrar la IPD en los proyectos de AIC cuando la colaboración aún es limitada. Se desarrolló un “Modelo Evolutivo de la IPD” y los lineamientos para su implementación para aplicaciones en tales ambientes. La Investigación en Ciencias del Diseño fue el enfoque adoptado en este studio para discutir y evaluar el modelo propuesto. El modelo enfatiza un proceso evolutivo y flexible para la aplicación de la IPD en proyectos en AIC. El modelo postula los elementos de IPD deseables y requeridos según los niveles de dificultad de aplicación, enfatizando la disposición de las partes interesadas para utilizarlo y la introducción gradual de la IPD en tales ambientes.

Abstract: Over the years, construction projects have been developed and delivered through traditional delivery methods. However, traditional delivery methods have been considered ineffective to achieve the real project goals. Integrated and collaborative models, such as Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), a delivery method based on relational contracts, has attracted growing interest in both academia and industry, but still scarce in Architecture Engineering, and Construction (AEC). Most prior research emphasized the identification of barriers and challenges to implementing IPD and few studies focused on developing strategies to overcome those constraints. A limited number of studies have addressed how to reap the benefits of IPD in AEC environments where collaboration between stakeholders is poor. This research investigates how to integrate IPD into AEC projects when collaboration is still limited. An “IPD Evolutionary Model” and guidelines for its implementation were developed for applications in such environments. Design Science Research was the research approach adopted in this study to discuss and evaluate the proposed model. The model emphasizes an evolutionary and flexible process for the IPD application in AEC projects. The model postulates the desirable and required IPD elements according to the levels of application difficulty, emphasising stakeholders' readiness for using it and the gradual introduction of IPD in such environments.

ABSTRACT It is projected an increase of about 30% in the world population by 2050 and a food demand increase by 60%, mainly vegetable proteins. Due to this, soybean is being introduced in new production systems, such as in rotation with irrigated rice in lowlands. Irrigated and non-irrigated experiments were conducted in order to determine the influence of irrigation on maturity groups, on yield components and yield in lowlands. Five soybean cultivars with maturity groups (MG) ranging from 4.8 to 7.8 were used, representing the cultivars sowing in southern Brazil, and three sowings were performed (October, November and January). A decrease in the number of pods m-2 was observed with the delay in the sowing date in both water regimes and MG, except MG 4.8 and 5.5, which had a higher number of pods m-2 when irrigated and sown in November. The leaf area index (LAI) was higher under the irrigated condition, for all MGs and sowing dates. The interaction between the yield components can be maximized by the combination of supplemental irrigation, anticipation of sowing date and the choice for cultivars with MG from 6.2 to 6.8 for lowland environments.

Abstract This study compares temporal trends in violent deaths of children and adolescents and analyzes differences in incidents of violence classified and not classified as a crime. We analyzed data from the Mortality Information System and State of Maranhão Public Security Department for the period 2014 to 2020. Child and adolescent were defined as aged 0-11 and 12-17 years old, respectively. Types of violence were organized according to the groups, subgroups, and types of crimes set out in Brazil’s penal code. A total of 1,326 deaths and 8,187 incidents of violence were reported, both of which were more frequent in adolescents. The most frequent types of violence in children and adolescentes, respectively, were: abduction of incapable persons (p < 0.001), abandonment of incapable persons (p = 0.045), rape of vulnerable persons (p = 0.003); homicides (p < 0.001), crimes against individual freedom (p = 0.004), crimes against sexual freedom (p < 0.001), psychological violence (p = 0.034). Domestic violence with bodily harm was more frequent in girls (p < 0.001), while severe bodily harm (p=0.002), homicide (p < 0.001), and harassment (p < 0.001) were more frequent in boys. The findings reveal differences over time in deaths and incidents of violence classified and not classified as crime among both children and adolescents.

Resumo O presente estudo compara tendências temporais de óbitos por violências contra crianças e adolescentes e analisa diferenças em ocorrências tipificadas ou não como crimes. Foram analisados dados do Sistema de Informação sobre Mortalidade e da Secretaria de Segurança Pública do Estado do Maranhão, Brasil, de 2014-2020. Crianças e adolescentes foram definidos respectivamente como pessoas com 0-11 e 12-17 anos. Tipos de violências foram organizados segundo grupos, subgrupos e tipos penais do Código Penal Brasileiro. Foram contabilizados 1.326 óbitos e 8.187 ocorrências, mais frequentes na adolescência. Subtração de incapazes (p < 0,001), abandono de incapaz (p = 0,045) e estupro de vulnerável (p = 0,003) predominaram na infância. Homicídios (p < 0,001), crimes contra a liberdade individual (p = 0,004), crimes contra a liberdade sexual (p < 0,001) e violência psicológica (p = 0,034) foram mais frequentes na adolescência. Violência doméstica com lesão corporal predominou no sexo feminino (p < 0,001). Lesões corporais graves (p = 0,002), homicídios (p < 0,001) e constrangimento ilegal (p < 0,001) vitimizaram mais adolescentes do sexo masculino. Houve diferenças temporais em óbitos e ocorrências de violências contra crianças e adolescentes, assim como em características de violências tipificadas ou não como crimes.

ABSTRACT The expression ‘you need to know to conserve’ is a well-known cliche among biologists. Documenting the richness of a group of organisms is the first step towards understanding biodiversity and preparing efficient conservation plans. In this context, many efforts have been made to quantify the number of species on Earth and estimate the number of species still unknown to science. A few countries have complete and integrated databases estimating the approximate number of species recorded for their territory, particularly in the Global South. In Brazil, a country of continental dimensions, revealing the richness of the second most diverse clade of invertebrates (=Mollusca) has been a goal of taxonomists. Recently, in an unprecedented, collective, and integrated effort among Brazilian malacologists, it was possible to estimate how many valid species of molluscs are there in Brazil. In this effort, more than 30 mollusc experts joined together to update the Taxonomic Catalogue of the Brazilian Fauna (TCBF), a governmental website that allows a quick and real-time updating of all Metazoan. So far, more than 5,000 updates have been made in TCBF, indicating the presence of 3,552 valid species of molluscs in Brazil, distributed among the main clades as follows: Caudofoveata (10 spp.), Solenogastres (6 spp.), Polyplacophora (35 spp.), Scaphopoda (43 spp.), Cephalopoda (92 spp.), Bivalvia (629 spp.) and Gastropoda (2,737 spp.). The present study, in addition to demonstrating for the first time the richness of Brazilian molluscs, also presents the state of the art of this important phylum of invertebrates highlighting its most representative and neglected groups.

Abstract Erythromelalgia is a rare disease, involving pain, edema, redness, and hyperthermia in the limbs. It is extremely refractory to drugs, has no defined treatment, and causes psychological comorbidities in the patient. We describe a case of erythromelalgia involving a 17-year-old boy who had been suffering from the disease for almost 4 years prior to finding an effective treatment. A bilateral endoscopic lumbar sympathectomy was performed, limited to L2 and L3 resections. Four weeks after the procedure, the patient’s symptoms were significantly mitigated and at 8 months follow-up he remained almost asymptomatic. Endoscopic lumbar sympathectomy was an effective treatment for primary erythromelalgia in this teenager, with exceptional reduction of his symptoms.

Resumo Eritromelalgia é uma doença rara caracterizada por dor, edema, eritema e hipertermia nos membros. É extremamente refratária a medicamentos e não tem um tratamento definido, causando comorbidades psicológicas para o paciente. Descrevemos o caso de um menino de 17 anos que possuía eritromelalgia há quase 4 anos antes de ser submetido a um tratamento efetivo. Foi realizada simpatectomia lombar endoscópica bilateral limitada à ressecção dos gânglios L2 e L3. Após 4 semanas do procedimento, o paciente teve diminuição significativa dos seus sintomas e, com 8 meses de seguimento, permanece praticamente assintomático. A simpatectomia lombar endoscópica foi um tratamento eficaz para eritromelalgia primária em um adolescente, com redução excepcional dos seus sintomas.

Abstract The identification of putative prognostic factors in canine mammary neoplasms (CMNs) has been focused on tissue-specific biomarkers, but the serum biomarkers, including cancer antigen 15-3 (CA 15-3), c-reactive protein (CRP), and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) have been demonstrated to display clinical application in cases of CMNs. The aim of the study was to evaluate the levels of these serum biomarkers and their association with well-established prognostic factors in CMNs. Samples from 15 female canines with CMNs and 15 clinically healthy ones were collected. The results were evaluated using the Tukey’s, Pearson, or Spearman tests. The cut-off point, sensitivity, specificity, and area under curve (AUC) were evaluated using the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis in a logistic regression model (P<0.05). The levels of CA 15-3, CRP and LDH were significantly higher in the serum of female dogs with CMNs compared to the healthy ones. Moreover, these factors were positively correlated with ulceration, tumor size, histopathological grade, metastatic lymph node, and clinical staging. Female dogs with CMNs were found to exhibit highest serum levels of CA 15-3, CRP, and LDH. Therefore, they can be applied to improve the efficacy of the diagnosis and prognostic evaluation in casas of CMNs.

ABSTRACT Plant species have different adaptation mechanisms regarding seed survival to desiccation, preventing cellular destruction during the water loss. The knowledge of these mechanisms is of great importance for the understanding of how the seed formation/maturation processes and the processes involved in germination occur. Thus, this study aimed to determine physiological and enzymatic changes during the maturation process of melon seeds of the cultivar BRS Anton, obtained from fruits at different maturation stages and subjected to post-harvest storage, by the action of total proteins and the enzymes catalase, peroxidase, and superoxide dismutase. Melon fruits were grown in a greenhouse at Embrapa Vegetables and harvested at five different times: 30, 45, 60, 75, and 90 days after anthesis (DAA). Thirty fruits were harvested in each season and 15 fruits had their seeds extracted immediately after harvest and the other 15 fruits were stored for 15 days. After processing and drying, the seeds were submitted to the following analyses: germination, first count, protein profile analysis, and activity of antioxidant enzymes (total proteins, peroxidase, catalase, and superoxide dismutase). The activity of the antioxidant enzymes from 60 DAA under storage showed a more orderly behavior, reaffirming the results of physiological tests. It shows that the seeds at this point of physiological maturation are well-formed and drying caused no damage to their cell membranes.

RESUMO As espécies vegetais apresentam diferentes mecanismos de adaptação no que diz respeito à sobrevivência das sementes à dessecação, prevenindo a destruição celular durante a perda de água. O conhecimento desses mecanismos é de grande importância para o entendimento de como ocorre os processos de formação/maturação de sementes e dos processos envolvidos na germinação. Dessa forma, o objetivo deste trabalho foi determinar as alterações fisiológicas e enzimáticas durante o processo de maturação das sementes de melão da cultivar “BRS Anton”, obtidas de frutos em diferentes estádios de maturação e submetidas ao armazenamento pós-colheita, por meio da ação das proteínas totais e das enzimas catalase, peroxidase e superóxido dismutase. Os frutos de melão foram cultivados em casa de vegetação na Embrapa Hortaliças e colhidos em cinco épocas distintas: aos 30, 45, 60, 75 e 90 dias após a antese (DAA). Em cada época, foram colhidos 30 frutos, sendo que 15 frutos tiveram suas sementes extraídas imediatamente após a colheita e 15 frutos foram armazenados por 15 dias. Após o beneficiamento e secagem, as sementes foram submetidas às seguintes análises: germinação, primeira contagem, análise do perfil de proteínas e atividade de enzimas antioxidantes (proteínas totais, peroxidase, catalase e superóxido dismutase). Observou-se que as atividades das enzimas antioxidativas a partir dos 60 DAA sob armazenamento, apresentou um comportamento mais ordenado reafirmando os resultados dos testes fisiológicos. Demostrando que as sementes neste ponto de maturação fisiológica, encontra-se bem formadas e que a secagem não provocou danos em suas membranas celulares.

ABSTRACT Objective: the aim of this study was to compare the results of open and videolaparoscopic transvesical prostatectomy techniques in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in a tertiary hospital. Methods: we reviewed medical records of patients who underwent transvesical adenectomy due to BPH between March 2019 and March 2021 at the urology service of Hospital de Clínicas do Paraná (HCPR), 42 patients were included in the open transvesical prostatectomy group and 22 in the videolaparoscopic group. Then, a comparison was made between the techniques in terms of surgical time, bleeding, length of stay, need for intensive care, among others, in addition to postoperative outcome. Results: the mean surgical time was shorter in the open technique compared to the laparoscopic technique (141 min vs 274 min). The videolaparoscopic group had a shorter mean hospital stay (3.5 days vs 6.36 days). There was no statistical significance in the comparison regarding the need for an intensive care unit, as well as in the assessment of postoperative bleeding. Conclusion: comparatively, the techniques demonstrated a similar outcome, with a low rate of complications and satisfactory results for the treatment of BPH. The laparoscopic technique is a surgery with a shorter hospital stay, but at the expense of a longer surgical time.

RESUMO Objetivo: o objetivo deste estudo foi comparar o resultado das técnicas de prostatectomia transvesical aberta e videolaparoscópica no tratamento de hiperplasia prostática benigna (HPB) em um hospital terciário. Métodos: foram revisados prontuários de pacientes submetidos a adenectomia transvesical devido a HPB entre março de 2019 a março de 2021 no serviço de urologia do Hospital de Clínicas do Paraná (HCPR), sendo incluídos 42 pacientes no grupo prostatectomia transvesical aberta e 22 no grupo videolaparoscópico. Em seguida foi feita a comparação entre as técnicas nos quesitos tempo cirúrgico, sangramento, tempo de internamento, necessidade de terapia intensiva, entre outras, além de desfecho pós-operatório. Resultados: o tempo cirúrgico médio foi menor na técnica aberta em comparação com a técnica videolaparoscópica (141 min vs 274 min). O grupo videolaparoscópico apresentou um tempo médio de internamento menor (3,5 dias vs 6,36 dias). Não houve significância estatística na comparação quanto a necessidade de unidade de terapia intensiva, assim como na avaliação do sangramento pós-operatório. Conclusão: comparativamente, as técnicas demonstraram um desfecho semelhante, com baixa taxa de complicações e resultados satisfatórios para o tratamento da HPB. Sendo a técnica videolaparoscópica uma cirurgia com menor tempo de internamento, porém às custas de um maior tempo cirúrgico. .

Abstract: The thermoinhibition of lettuce seed germination causes important losses for producers, who do not have thermotolerant commercial cultivars. One of the obstacles has been the scarcity of optimizing techniques capable of efficiently discriminating thermotolerant and thermosensitive cultivars. The aim of this work was to evaluate the use of neural networks to discriminate different levels of thermoinhibition in lettuce seeds. Seeds of 18 cultivars were evaluated for thermoinhibition considering the characteristics of the first and last germination count and germination speed index, in seeds subjected to temperatures of 20, 25, 30 and 35 °C. The remaining seeds, which did not germinate, were subjected to the tetrazolium test. Analyses were performed immediately after seed harvesting and repeated after six months of storage. Discriminant analysis was performed and the Kohonen’s Self-Organizing Map (SOM) was created using Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs). Neural networks discriminate lettuce cultivars and organizes them in terms of seed thermoinhibition tolerance through Kohonen’s Self-Organizing Map. Discriminant analysis consistently identifies the Everglades and Luiza genotypes as tolerant to thermoinhibition.

Resumo: A termoinibição causa perdas importantes para os produtores, os quais não dispõem de cultivares comerciais com sementes termotolerantes. Há escassez de técnicas otimizadoras capazes de discriminar cultivares termotolerantes e termosensíveis com eficiência. Objetivou-se avaliar o uso de redes neurais para discriminar diferentes níveis de termoinibição em sementes de alface. Foram avaliadas sementes de 18 cultivares quanto à termoinibição considerando às características de primeira e última contagem de germinação e índice de velocidade de germinação, em sementes submetidas às temperaturas de 20, 25, 30 e 35 °C. As sementes remanescentes, que não germinaram, foram submetidas ao teste de tetrazólio. As análises foram realizadas imediatamente após a colheita das sementes e repetidas após seis meses de armazenamento. Uma análise discriminante e o Mapa Auto-Organizável de Kohonen (SOM) por Redes Neurais Artificiais (RNA’s) foram realizados. As redes neurais discriminam as cultivares de alface e as organiza quanto a tolerância a termoinibição das sementes por meio do Mapa Auto-Organizável de Kohonen. A análise discriminante indentifica de maneira coerente o genótipo Everglades e Luiza como tolerantes a termoinibição.

ABSTRACT The knowledge of the adequate period for the beginning of weed management in lettuce crop can increase the efficiency of production, reducing the costs with management. The aim of this study was to determine the pre-interference period (PIP), the critical time for weed removal (CTWR) and the critical period of weed control (CPWC) in three lettuce cultivars, Elisa, Lucy Brown and Solaris. Coexistence and the absence of weeds were evaluated for each cultivar. The design was in randomized blocks with seven treatments (0, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 days after transplanting - DAT) of coexistence and the same seven periods of weed absence with four replicates in each experiment. The highest infestation densities were with the species Oxalis latifolia, Coronopus didymus and Amaranthus hybridus. The leaf area and number of leaves per plant were reduced by up to 50% and 66%, respectively, in relation to the longest period of coexistence with weeds and yield reduced by 48% (Elisa), 40% (Lucy Brown) and 33% (Solaris). The cultivar Solaris showed greater tolerance to weed interference. Based on yield, PIP was 1, 3 and 3 DAT and CTWR was 37, 37 and 35 DAT, and CPWC was 2 to 37, 3 to 37 and 3 to 35 for the cultivars Elisa, Lucy Brown and Solaris, respectively.

RESUMO O conhecimento do período adequado para início do manejo de plantas daninhas na cultura da alface pode aumentar a eficiência de produção reduzindo os custos com o manejo. Objetivou-se neste trabalho determinar o período anterior à interferência (PAI), o período total de prevenção da interferência (PTPI) e o período crítico de prevenção da interferência (PCPI) em três cultivares de alface, Elisa, Lucy Brown e Solaris. Foram avaliadas a convivência e a ausência de plantas daninhas para cada cultivar. O delineamento foi em blocos casualizados com sete tratamentos [0, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 e 42 dias após transplantio (DAT)] de convivência e os mesmos sete períodos de ausência de plantas daninhas com quatro repetições em cada experimento. As maiores densidades de infestação foram com as espécies Oxalis latifolia, Coronopus didymus e Amaranthus hybridus. A área foliar e número de folhas por planta foram reduzidas em até 50% e 66% respectivamente em função do maior período de convivência com as plantas daninhas e produtividade foi reduzida em 48% (Elisa), 40% (Lucy Brown) e 33% (Solaris). A cultivar Solaris apresentou maior tolerância à interferência das plantas daninhas. Com base nos dados de produtividade o PAI foi de 1, 3 e 3 DAT e o PTPI foi de 37, 37 e 35 DAT, sendo o PCPI de 2 a 37, 3 a 37 e 3 a 35 para as cultivares Elisa, Lucy Brown e Solaris, respectivamente.

ABSTRACT The scientific literature consistently points out that groups historically targeted by social stigma experience deleterious effects in different spheres of life. Despite its gravity and pervasiveness, there are still gaps in the investigation of the topic, such as that focused on the Courtesy Stigma, which is experienced by people who have affective or professional ties with the stigmatized individual. This article aimed to present the state of the art on Courtesy Stigma through a systematic review of original empirical studies published in peer-reviewed journals and indexed in the main databases related to the research field (PsycNET (APA), Pubmed, Bvs Brasil, CAPES, SciELO, and Pepsic journals). As keywords for the search for abstracts, we used: courtesy stigma, affiliate stigma and associative stigma. Altogether, 94 complete texts met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Studies have shown that the Courtesy Stigma has been investigated predominantly among family members of people who have some type of problem related to their mental health, in addition to parents of children with some type of disability.

RESUMEN La literatura científica señala constantemente que los grupos históricamente afectados por el estigma social experimentan efectos nocivos en diferentes ámbitos de la vida. A pesar de su gravedad y omnipresencia, todavía hay vacíos en la investigación del tema, como el centrado en el estigma de cortesía, que experimentan las personas que tienen vínculos afectivos o profesionales con el individuo estigmatizado. Este artículo tuvo como objetivo presentar el estado del arte sobre el estigma de cortesía a través de una revisión sistemática de estudios empíricos originales publicados en revistas revisadas por pares e indexados en las principales bases de datos relacionadas con el campo de investigación (PsycNET (APA), Pubmed, Bvs Brasil, CAPES, SciELO y revistas Pepsic). Como palabras clave para la búsqueda de resúmenes, utilizamos: estigma de cortesía, estigma de afiliación y estigma de asociación. En total, 94 textos completos cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Los estudios han demostrado que el estigma de cortesía se ha investigado principalmente entre miembros de la familia de personas que tienen algún tipo de problema relacionado con su salud mental, además de los padres de niños con algún tipo de discapacidad.

A despeito da sua gravidade e pervasividade, ainda existem lacunas na investigação do tema, tais como aquela voltada para o Estigma de Cortesia, que é vivenciado por pessoas que possuem vínculos afetivos ou profissionais com o indivíduo estigmatizado. O presente artigo teve como objetivo apresentar o estado da arte sobre estigma de cortesia, por meio de uma revisão sistemática de estudos empíricos originais publicados em periódicos revisados por pares e indexados nas principais bases relacionadas ao campo de investigação (PsycNET (APA), Pubmed, Bvs Brasil, Periódicos CAPES, SciELO e Pepsic). Como palavras-chave, para a busca dos resumos, utilizou-se: estigma de cortesia, estigma de afiliação e estigma de associação. Ao todo, 94 textos completos atenderam aos critérios de inclusão e exclusão.
