Dimensão holística para o ensino de enfermagem

The central theme of the actual study is the formation of a professional on nursing. It is connected to the line of knowledge social production research. Its goal is to propose a pedagogical approach under a holistic pattern, as a mediator of relations between professionals and patients, adjusted to the intended teaching. It has been applied among teachers and nurses at Nursing University in Teresôpolis (RJ), who work both in theoretical teaching at the University itself as for the practical one, as well as by providing their assistance for the School-Hospital of the same Institution. This is a qualitative research, having as its methodology that one as per René Barbier i.e. the Living-Action Research. The analysis and interpretation of data have been accomplished through the approach of Social-Poetical Knowledge. The results indicated that the pedagogical conception based on a holistic dimension is not yet fully noticed by the professionals who attended to the study; notwithstanding, it is well accepted. The importance of an encircling Education, that can use the holistic dimension in the formation of a nurse, considering the social and humanistic role of such a professional category must be pointed out in this research; these professionals, by assisting to the individual, as well as to groups and communities in their totality will be helping them in their citizenship process and, as a consequence, will also be contributing to the reverting of the social exclusion status that affects our society as a whole, and is an even more keen way in the field of health.
