For an evaluation of knowledge production in Nursing Introduction and or Fundamental Nursing was made a review of this question and after we covered the conceptual point. Considering that this training suffered significants changes in their program content, influenced and was influenced by research, we structured the analysis in four periods that were fixed from that teaching changes. To realize this study, we search the source of information available, namely, Brazilian Journal of Nursing, Journal of Nursing School of São Paulo University, Journal of Nursing in New Dimensions, the Catalogue edited by Nursing Research Center and the programs of Nursing School of Brazil. The data were analyzed in accordance with the methodology proposed, in other hand, by periods, and outpoint the teaching, research and assistance tendencies, trying to give an answer to the actual proposal. It follows that, has been a descriptive work, allow to expose situations, to question the facts descrived and to search relations that one's explain. The historical-social interpretations was reevested of a character of approximation to the problem. It is important that futures studies will be search to analyze in deepness the knowledge production qualitatively and their relation with practice
