Abstract

This article results from a study about a training experience that involves the use of videos about the development of statistical investigations in a real context and that was carried out in a Statistics Course for pre-service kindergarten and elementary school teachers. This study aims to analyze the contribution of using these videos to develop content knowledge and teaching of pre-service teachers to teach statistics. The methodology is interpretative, and the data were collected through reflective reports produced by the pre-service teachers after watching the videos. Data analysis allowed us to conclude that the exploration of these videos in the training sessions contributed to develop content knowledge and teaching of the pre-service teachers related with different types of statistical thinking (need for data, transnumeration, reasoning with models, and integration of statistical and contextual) and with the investigative cycle and interrogative cycle.
