With the aim to study the behaviour of bean genotypes in Santa Maria, RS, four experiments were conducted in the seasons of 1987/88, 1988/89, 1989/90 and 1991/92. The experimental design was a complete randomized block with four replications. On the four experiments 59 genotypes were evaluated one or more times. The results showed that BR - IPAGRO 3 -Minuano, CNF 5490 and CNF 5491 genotypes produced higher number of pods per plant and higher number of seed per pod, had higher resistance to lodging, presenting cycle between 82 and 84 days and high productivity.
