INFLUENCE OF PLANTS ARRANGMENT ON GRAIN YIELD, OIL YIELD AND COMPONENTS OF SUNFLOWER'S YIELD

The influence of plant's densities and row spacings on the grain yield, oil yield and yield components of earlier sunflower's cultivar in Passo Fundo, RS, during the 1991/92 growing season was evaluated. Four plant's density (30000; 50000; 70000 and 90000 plants/ha) and three row spacings (0.3; 0.5 and 0.7m) were tested. The results showed that for a premature and low height cultivar the density that makes favorable a bigger grain's yield is in a range of 50000 to 70000 plants/ha, independent of row spacings. The components yield, grains weight and number of grains for head decreased with the increased in plant's density. The oil content in the grains and the oil yield were not affected for the plants arrangement.
