This paper discusses the knowledge, attitudes and perception of a population about the intestinal helminthiasis. It was shown that the individuals have their own codes to identify the diseases. The paper also presents the analysis of the prevalence of helminthiasis and their relationships with anemia, nutritional status, income and familiar composition. The Program of Health and Education in verminoses, tried to exercise practice of the knowledge on intervention and to stimulate the collective actions.
