Epistemological bases of biographical research in education

This paper aims to better define the epistemological relevance of biographical research in education. This research of fundamentals firstly passes through a quest for the social and historical origins of the models of biographical construction and the types of narratives which come along, especially in the modern world. On the other side, it implies the precision of the characteristics which turn the autobiographical narrative into an « hermeneutic of experience » and which found the relationship between biography and education, and between the biographization process and formation and learning processes.
