Validity and reliability studies of intelligence tests

The aim of the present study was to analyze the construction of psychological tests, focusing on standardization and studies of validity and reliability. The objective of the research was to verify whether the tests of intelligence are valid and reliable or not, as well as to identify if the foreign tests present Brazilian standardization. Seventeen tests of intelligence commercialized in Brazil were analyzed and the results indicated that most tests, local and foreign ones, present studies of validation and reliability, although some of them have not mentioned information concerning standardization in their respective manuals, as a sample of standardization and related variables. New studies are recommended, focusing on different tests or new analysis of the tests of intelligence. It is concluded that although the authors agree that all tests need studies to verify psychometric parameters and studies to obtain regional norms this action isn't spread yet in the Brazilian psychological assessment.
