Solitude, considered as a symptom of a scenery in which the public space loses valor and grows the concerns about the interiority and personality, is the subject that directs this article. There were analyzed the singularities of solitude especially in the worker classes and the factors involved in its constitution. The debate considers specifically solitude in the universe of the lower wealth Brazilians, knowing that in the last years occurred lots of changes in the work culture. To the workers in general and more dramatically to the lower wealth: unemployment, informal jobs and the difficulty to solidify the identity by the work seem to intensify the feelings of solitude.
