Abstract
This article aims to present an overview of the research published in national journals on the performance of the psychologist in the school related to aspects of health promotion and disease prevention, in order to produce knowledge about the psychologist's work in this environment. We selected and analyzed 17 articles, based on the Content Analysis technique. It is worth highlighting the possibility of the psychologist, who works in the school, to work from the perspective of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, legitimating, a professional identity in the service of life-enhancing education and healthy relationships, with signs that the actions in mental health. However, there was a need for further empirical studies to verify the effectiveness of such work in practice.
