Abstract
The work developed a research through online questionnaires with 55 Physical Education teachers of the municipal network of Fortaleza/CE, acting in the grades 6 to 9. The objective was to analyze the knowledge and application of laws 10.639/03 and 11.645/08. It has been identified that most teachers do not know what the laws are about. Even teachers who are not aware of it, work on ethnic racial issues at school, and claim that content is part of the discipline. It is concluded that it is necessary to reshape the pedagogical practices, regarding the subject matter, giving greater attention to the training of teachers for this subject, facing the challenge of constructing new avenues for teaching.
