ABSTRACT
The objective article comprises the meanings of corporate practices in their leisure time in a community of fishermen (Cumbe/Aracati-CE/Brazil). A research of ethnographic orientation had as procedure a participatory observation and a comprehensive interview. The theoretical framework consists of authors of Physical Education and Sociology of Everyday Life. The results point to: leisure time at the same time constituted by a set of corporate practices not habit to go to the river. “cumê no mato” appears as an interaction ritual, involving corporate practices such as fishing and eating. In a sense of fun and approach, it evokes a feeling of camaraderie and promotes the fluidity of the encounter.
