The purpose of this paper is to analyze soccer based on the three entry points established by Mosco (2009)MOSCO, V. La Economía Política de la Comunicación. Barcelona: Bosch, 2009. as constituent parts of a theoretical-methodological framework for studies on the global political economy: commodification, spatialization and structuration. From these inputs, which allow a recognition of dependence on particular factors of space-time and historical and situational functioning in social reality and, consequently, in the concrete social formations, aims at analyzing the development of soccer as a sport with great reception world, with due regard to the Cultural Industry as one of the major contributors in this process.
