ABSTRACT
The study described gender differences in self-reported sedentary behavior and physical activity of schoolchildren from 2nd to 5th grade, using a web-based questionnaire. The Poisson regression model compared physical activities and sedentary behaviors between genders, adjusted for age, school shift, and body mass index. There was a higher percentage of daily physical activities performed by girls, especially light and moderate intensity. Boys performed more vigorous activities especially fights and soccer. There was no significant gender difference in the daily amount of sedentary behaviors.
