The distinction between Law and Politics is a basic problem that will never receive a final answer. This issue of REVISTA DIREITO GV presents a group of ar ticles on the juridification of politics and on judicial rationality that contributes to the on going debate on this question. This issue also presents ar ticles on Indian law, Labor Law in China, Banking Regulation in Germany, German Cr iminal Law, ICM and Law & Literature.

The first group of ar ticles studies the relation between Law and Politics both from an internal and an external point of view. The articles investigate the problem of the separation of powers, the cur rent design of the judiciary and the activity of judges as a source of Law.

Reading them all together one realizes the problems they elaborate on are in dispute. There is not a closed set of answers for them, only a series of arguments in contradiction. The Brazilian tradition of Law research is only begging to see itself as a champ to debate and not as set of asser tions based on the "truth" of the Law. This collection wants to contribute to deepen this recent trend.

Two previous issues of this Law journal published articles on themes related to Law and Politics. REVISTA DIREITO GV v.4 n.2 and v.5 n.1 were respectively about the future of Brazilian Constitution and about cases solved by the Brazilian Supreme Court. I recommend the reading of these articles together with the current issue.

I dedicate this issue of REVISTA DIREITO GV to Professor Ary Oswaldo Mattos Filho - DIREITO GV's Dean since its foundation - that decided to develop other activities from now on. Without his suppor t this journal would never have reached the degree of autonomy and editorial freedom it has today. That is why this Editor thanks Prof. Ary for his firm belief in intellectual excellence above all other goals and values.

Enjoy your reading!
