This exploratory study aimed atthe Ethnography theorethic-methodological reference and its use on nursing researches. Forthat, we show a bibliographic review about general Ethnography, and above all, Ethno-nursing. Then, we performed an empirical search on nursing scientific production, analyzing summaries from thesis and essays enclosed in the catalogues published by the Nursing Research and Study Center, aiming to identify those which used such a reference as well as year, place and degree obtained with the presentation of the work, kind and research technics used, and study prevalence area.
