From the theoretical and policy debate about the relation between Marxism and psychoanalysis - debate that was inaugurated by the School of Frankfurt's critical perspective - and taking the academic debate and the professional activity of the contemporary Social Services, in which subjectivity is presented with a strong psychological content, the article contributes to overcome traditionalism by setting the theme in the ethical, academic and policy agenda in the professional scene.
