Resumo Neste ensaio de inspiração benjaminiana se discute um circuito mimético em que bonecos criados à semelhança de “velhos barranqueiros” entram em relações com moradores que se tornam semelhantes aos bonecos. O gesto de um artesão de povoar as margens de um rio retorna com a força de um campo energizado por bonecos e moradores revitalizando os últimos em sua determinação de não saírem de suas moradas. Imagens de antepassados que fizeram suas moradas às margens do rio Piracicaba e de índios paiaguás ou evuevi - “gente do rio” - se articulam ao presente, num momento de perigo, em que moradores se veem ameaçados por um projeto da prefeitura de “reconquista da Rua do Porto” associado à restauração de um imaginário bandeirante. Chama atenção o modo como os resíduos da cidade e da sua história, coletados por um artesão numa carroça puxada por um cavalo chamado Lontra, ganham vida na forma dos bonecos.

Abstract This essay proposes to discuss, from a Benjaminian perspective, a mimetic circuit in which dolls that are similar to ancestral riverbank dwellers enter into relations with people living on the banks of the river, who become similar to dolls. The gesture of an artisan to populate the banks of a river returns with the force of a field which is energized by dolls and riverbank dwellers, invigorating the latter in their determination not to be removed from their homes. Images of people from the past who made their homes and fished from the banks of the Piracicaba River and of Amerindian Paiaguá or evuevi “river people” articulate with the present in a moment of danger in which dwellers are threatened by a city government project of “reconquest of Riverbank Street” associated with the restoration of a bandeirante (backland explorer and Indian slave-hunter) heroic imaginary. Attention is called to the way in which residues of the city and its history, collected by an artisan in a cart pulled by a horse named Otter, come to life in the form of riverine dolls.

Resumo Por meio da descrição das interações entre espíritos de colonizadores, especialistas religiosos, divindades e devotos da deusa hindu Kali na Guiana, o artigo busca demonstrar como concepções nativas sobre a presença de entes espirituais no mundo são atravessadas por dúvidas, hesitações e (re)elaborações retrospectivas de eventos passados, bem como por reflexões aguçadas sobre as potencialidades de seres com estatutos ontológicos distintos assumirem, incorporarem e imitarem atributos e poderes de outros seres.

Abstract Through the description of the interactions between spirits of colonizers, religious specialists, deities and devotees of the Hindu goddess Kali in Guyana, the article aims to demonstrate how native conceptions about the presence of spiritual beings in the world are crossed by doubts, hesitations and retrospective (re)elaborations of past events, as well as for reflections on the potentialities of beings with distinct ontological statutes to assume, incorporate and imitate the attributes and powers of other beings.

Resumo Este artigo apresenta uma reflexão antropológica para a performance de Francisca da Silva, mais conhecida como Tica, brincante da tradição cultural do Reisado no figural de Rainha no grupo Santa Helena em Juazeiro do Norte, interior do Ceará. O interesse consiste em perceber a forma com que Tica produz a dissidência sexual e de gênero por meio do uso do corpo na repetição da performatividade feminina, sobretudo na forma de inventar a existência social a partir dos eixos de precariedade e de vulnerabilidade. Ao trazer a manifestação popular religiosa do Reisado, procuramos perceber como a noção de teatro como encantamento aparece no momento em que Tica incorpora a Rainha no rito, principalmente do ponto de vista da majestade no corpo da brincante que dignifica a vida comum a partir da expansão criativa e política da dança no contexto subversivo da imitação.

Abstract This article presents an anthropological reflection for the performance of Francisca da Silva, better known as Tica, who plays the cultural tradition of the Reisado in the figural of Queen in the Santa Helena group in Juazeiro do Norte, in the interior of Ceará. The interest is to perceive the way in which Tica produces sexual and gender dissidence through the use of the body in the repetition of female performativity and is therefore a way of inventing social existence from the axes of precariousness and vulnerability. In bringing the popular religious manifestation of the Reisado, We try to perceive how the notion of theater as enchantment appears at the moment when Tica incorporates the Queen in the rite, mainly, from the point of view of critical power that the majesty of the giver dignifies the common life from the creative expansion and dance politics in the subversive context of imitation.

Resumo Como é possível se tornar uma celebridade se passando por uma? Essa é a reflexão que desenvolvemos ao longo desse artigo, explorando etnograficamente a vida digital de @hebecamargo, o perfil falso da apresentadora Hebe Camargo criado por Victor Calazans, conhecido guru de mídias sociais entre os anos de 2012 e 2013. A emergência de perfis falsos de celebridades em plataformas de mídias sociais é um fenômeno crucial para pensar sobre os modos através dos quais nos envolvemos com tecnologias digitais e em seu poder de produzir efeitos na cadeia produtiva dos media. A partir de contribuições contemporâneas, buscamos ressaltar a importância de fakes como um meio de explorar dinâmicas latentes da modernidade tardia em relação a poder, mídia e subjetividade.

Abstract How is it possible to become a celebrity by impersonating one? This is the question we pose in this article by exploring ethnographically the digital life of @hebecamargo, a fake celebrity profile created by Victor Calazans, known for being a social media guru in the Brazilian advertising industry during the years of 2012 and 2013. The emergence of fake celebrity profiles in the social media landscape is crucial to reflect upon the ways in which subjects are engaged with digital technologies throughout their lives and its power effect in the productive chain of media and celebrity. Drawing from contemporary writings, we seek to stress the importance of fakes as a means to explore dynamics of late modernity relating to power, media and subjectivity.

Resumo Este trabalho parte da proposta de entendimento do modo como imagens produzidas pelas tecnologias dos brancos, como as fotográficas e audiovisuais, são capturadas e compreendidas pelo pensamento dos Asuriní do Xingu, grupo indígena que vive no médio curso do rio Xingu, Pará, Brasil. A partir do reconhecimento de que a própria ideia de imagem pode ser problemática, procurei questionar seu uso na pesquisa e suas possibilidades tradutivas. Em vias de conhecer o que seja o domínio da imagem entre os Asuriní, investigo alguns conceitos nativos, especialmente a ideia de ayngava, que se refere à imitação, presentificação, termo empregado em alusão à fotografia e ao filme. Imitar, aqui, está longe de ser uma mera reprodução do que está ausente e aponta para um estatuto da imagem vivo em que o referente se presentifica ou é evocado. Por fim, trago a ideia de ambiguidade para pensar a relação dos indígenas com fotografias e imagens em movimento e também deles com seus outros, o que inclui os brancos.

Abstract The purpose of this work is to understand how the images produced by the technologies of non-indigenous people, such as photographic and audiovisual, are perceived and understood by the thought process of the Xingu Asuriní, an indigenous group living in the middle course of the Xingu River, in the Brazilian state of Pará. Starting from the recognition that the very idea of image can be problematic, I attempted to examine its use in research and the ways it can be translated. As a way of understanding the domain of the image among the Asuriní, I investigate certain native concepts, particularly the idea of ayngava, which refers to imitation, presentification, a term used in reference to photography and film. Imitating, in this context, is far from being a mere reproduction of that which is absent, and points to the status of the live image in which the referent becomes presentified or evoked. Finally, I introduce the idea of ambiguity in order to think about the relationship of indigenous people to photography and moving images, and also of themselves in relation to others, including to non-indigenous people.

Resumen Considerando la imitación y la fabricación como procedimientos de vinculación con la naturaleza, nuestro artículo describe las prácticas agrícolas de las poblaciones locales y de los agricultores inmigrantes, en la provincia de Misiones (Argentina). El énfasis en los procedimientos permite establecer continuidades, y también fricciones, entre grupos juzgados como antagónicos. Descalificadas por el racionalismo, la imitación y la mímesis son valoradas aquí en términos de un enfoque materialista de la significación que discute la primacía otorgada a las representaciones simbólicas.

Abstract Considering imitation and manufacturing as procedures of connection with nature, our article describes the agricultural practices of local populations and immigrant farmers in the province of Misiones (Argentina). The emphasis upon the procedures allows to establish continuities, and also frictions, between groups judged as antagonistic. Disqualified by rationalism, imitation and mimesis are valued here in terms of a materialist approach to meaning that discusses the primacy given to symbolic representations.

Resumo Este artigo analisa simulações relacionadas à proposição “agro é tudo”, estratégia destacada de legitimação de agentes do agronegócio. Elas são produzidas por meio de operações para que se confundam partes com totalidades, ou, mais especificamente, para que se tomem esses agentes pelo amplo perímetro de funções agroalimentares abrangidas no conceito de agribusiness. É por essa razão que essas operações são tão mais eficazes quanto mais indistintas as dimensões analíticas e políticas do campo do agronegócio. Contrastando o conceito, de um lado, e o conjunto de atores políticos desse campo, de outro, o texto analisa os agenciamentos e os efeitos dessas simulações em três casos empíricos envolvendo, a saber, a agricultura familiar, estatísticas macroeconômicas e campanhas midiáticas. As fontes são 35 entrevistas com atores relacionados ao agronegócio, obras contendo suas justificações, documentos com seus pleitos, peças publicitárias, materiais da imprensa e discursos presidenciais.

Abstract This article analyzes simulations concerning the proposition that “agribusiness is everything”, a prominent strategy for legitimating agribusiness agents. These simulations occur through operations in the public sphere by which parts are used to refer to the whole, or, more specifically, by these agents being put for the broad perimeter of agrifood functions covered in the concept of agribusiness. It is for this reason that such operations function better when the analytical and political dimensions of the agribusiness field remain indistinct. By contrasting the concept, on the one hand, with the set of agribusiness political actors, on the other hand, the paper analyzes the mobilization and the effects of these simulations in three empirical cases involving family agriculture, macroeconomic statistics, and media campaigns. The sources are 35 interviews with actors related to agribusiness, books with their justifications, documents with their claims, propaganda, journalistic materials and presidential speeches.

Resumen El texto tiene por objeto visibilizar formas y procesos contemporáneos relativos a la circulación de personas y cosas que participan del comercio y contrabando de mercancías-imitaciones provenientes de Asia Oriental en la EFAL (Chile y Bolivia). Históricamente, tales dinámicas se vinculan con el ascenso e incorporación económica de grupos sociales marginados debido a la impronta colonial del capitalismo, mercado y estado en nuestra Región, siendo sancionadas simultáneamente con un carácter difuso y/o criminal por evadir la fiscalidad estatal y las leyes internacionales de copyright. Se observa que tales prácticas [re]producen nuevas geografías a partir de las articulaciones entre las economías asiáticas y Suramérica desde 1970, permitiendo, por una parte, que las poblaciones locales intervengan en parte del control de los símbolos asociados a las cosas que se movilizan por ésta; y una serie de transformaciones y reordenamientos espaciales, sociopolíticos, cognitivos y culturales multiescalares, por la otra.

Abtsract The purpose of the text is to visualize contemporary forms and processes related to the circulation of people and things that participate in the trade and smuggling of merchandise-imitations from East Asia into the EFAL (Chile and Bolivia). Historically, such dynamics are linked to the rise and economic incorporation of marginalized social groups due to the colonial imprint of capitalism, market and state in our Region, being sanctioned simultaneously with a diffuse and/or criminal character for evading state taxation and laws international copyright It is observed that such practices [re] produce new geographies from the articulations between the Asian mega-economies and South America since 1970, allowing, on the one hand, that local populations intervene in part to control the symbols associated with the things that are mobilized for this; and a series of transformations and spatial, sociopolitical, cognitive and multi-scalar cultural rearrangements, on the other.

Resumo O artigo problematiza a categoria nativa de antijogo, circunscrita em princípio aos domínios esportivos, embora seja sabido que se está diante de uma daquelas metáforas que facilmente escapam da seara originária para se converter em noção geral do simbolismo acomodado em múltiplas práticas. Antijogo como má conduta, comumente tipificada como ação individual, está correlacionado à ideia de estabilidade normativa que ampara as relações e práticas esportivas, mas também pode remeter ao domínio da sociabilidade em contextos mais amplos em que aparece significando burla e contrafação. Neste artigo procuro não apenas rever criticamente a noção de antijogo como suposta antítese daquilo que ao longo do tempo se estabeleceu como substrato dos esportes, isto é, os jogos e passatempos desdobrados no interior dos Estados nacionais, tomando o futebol como exemplo, mas também enfrentar uma questão metodológica que assume o regime da diferença e não necessariamente o da identidade como fundamento das conceitualizações repostas em noções correntes que amparam algumas definições de jogo e, por simples inércia antagônica, as de antijogo.

Abstract The article problematizes the native category of anti-game, limited in principle to the sportive domains, although it is known that one is faced with one of those metaphors that easily escape from the original field to become a general notion of the symbolism. Anti-game as misconduct, commonly typified as individual action, is correlated with the idea of normative stability that supports sports relations and practices, but can also refer to the domain of sociability in broader contexts where it appears to imply mocking and counterfeiting. In this article, I try to critically review the notion of anti-game not only as a supposed antithesis of what it has established itself as the substrate of sports, that is, games and pastimes, taking football as an example, but thinking as a methodological strategy: the regime of difference and not necessarily that of identity as the basis of the conceptualizations that support some definitions of game and, by simple antagonistic, those of anti-game.
