Science education and the “state of the world”: a programme of activities to enhance teacher’s perception of global problems and possible remedies

The literature about science teachers' training program hasn't properly explored the world's situation regarded to a global perception of its serious present problems. This article consists basically of a program of activities to be developed in partnership with graduated and graduating teachers, which aims to stimulate a group reflection over those matters. Under this perspective, a group of references and questions is indicated for a debate based on many factors connected to life's degradation and possible decisions to be taken in order to face the planetary emergency. Primary studies about the use of the proposed program have shown auspicious results regarding the perception that the scientific education can contribute to the thinking and building the future towards a better life quality.
