"Democratic Students": the actions of the "right-wing" student movement in the 1960s

Abstract :

This article aims to show the actions of right-wing young students, in the 1960s, in Brazil, through the analysis of the actions taken by their "left-wing" colleagues with the same age as them. This work was possible through the analysis of the content of a conservative monthly issue educational magazine, published by Editora do Brasil S/A, a publishing house that acquired the position of the main textbook publisher in the country, in 1972. To belittle the young students who acted politically on the streets, this magazine made another student group arise, which was considered by them as "healthy" and "good" who, in their own way, also acted politically, either through diversified practices, or silently.
