Platão e a cidade justa: poetas ilusionistas e potências da alma

The censorship Plato directs against poetry in the Republic is investigated from two points of view in this article: on one hand, the perspective of mimesis, which is seen as necessary to achieve knowledge, through phantasía; on the other, the issue of the epithymetic genre of soul, which is part of the more specific criticism developed in book X.
