The question of the space and its functions are being disregard at the organization analysis field. The space is take as a neutral aspect of the production and the work process. In the world of organizational practices there is a strong adoption of open plan offices. There is a strong believe that this kind of office allow better integration among people in the workplace, the increase of information flow, autonomy, freedom and participation of employees. However, some analysis are showing that the reality of the open plan office are not so beautiful. This article analyze the adoption of a open plan office through a critical point of view. We will discuss a Brazilian case study about it based on the Michel Foucault ideas about power.
