The interpersonal conflicts in early childhood education: the look of future teachers and trainees

Abstract

The interpersonal conflicts are increasingly present in the daily life of schools, motivating the realization of the present study, which sought to verify how they are understood and approached by teachers in training or graduates in pedagogy. Participants were selected from the mention of the occurrence of conflicts in their internship reports, and were invited to respond to questionnaires. It was found that most conceive the interpersonal conflicts experienced by their students as negative events, revealing that they do not yet feel prepared to act in the face of circumstances. One of the factors identified as the cause of this lack of preparation was professional training. It is concluded that teacher training plays a very important role in the change of the school and, consequently, in the construction of a better approach to the conflicting situations that it hosts. It is necessary to think about a formation that brings teachers closer to their realities and that helps them in the education of values.
