Breathing practices at school: an essay on emotions in the configuration of return to presence

ABSTRACT

This study aims to reflect, based on the theory of the civilizing process and from empirical experiences, on the insertion of breathing practices in school in the return to presenciality. It is characterized by an essay of theoretical-reflective nature based on experiences in a private school in the city of Porto Alegre, in dialogue with Norbert Elias theory. The configuration was constructed from three elements: 1) 'The school as an institution that regulates behaviors', 2) 'The uncontrolled control of emotions as pedagogical intentionality’ and 3) 'Mental health in the return to presenciality. The school seems to be an important space for learning body practices that help in the liberation of emotions.
