The Body Onstage: orality and ethnoscenology

ABSTRACT

The analysis of the processes of human knowledge transmission, in general, reveal two ways: orality and writing. Traditionally, the scenic phenomenon is observed and analyzed as a variation of orality. With the creation and assertion of disciplines whose objects of study are spectacular practices, like Ethnoscenology, other perspectives have been developed considering, in fact, the particularities and differences between the scenic event and other systems of human expression. Therefore, this paper proposes to analyze scenic aspects regarding the body and its sensory and communication relationships, highlighting them as a different structural format, such as writing and orality.
