Abstract
The government of alliance Cambiemos under the presidency of Mauricio Macri (December 2015 - December 2019) provoked an intense discussion in the Argentine intellectual field about the ways to characterize that political experience. In this framework, the understanding of the Argentine “new right” was produced from different conceptual approaches. At the same time, in their respective analyzes, such approaches favored addressing different dimensions of the phenomenon in question. Collecting the contributions made from each of these perspectives and establishing a critical dialogue with some of them, this article will propose to carry out an analysis of the general characteristics of the four years of Mauricio Macri's government. In this way, an attempt will be made to arrive at a holistic understanding of this political experience, concentrating on its relationship with the problems of the State and authoritarianism.
