Museums which pay attention to education for sustainability

This paper analyzes the content of two important French science museums that have begun to pay explicit and extensive attention to the current planetary emergency. They constitute two examples of how museums are beginning to overcome their traditional role as mere exponents of technoscientific achievements, and give a positive answer to United Nations call to all educators, both formal (from primary school to the university) and informal (museums, media...) to contribute to a correct perception of the state of the world and to prepare citizens for well-founded decision-making, generating responsible attitudes and behavior oriented towards the attainment of a sustainable future.
